The same cycle, over and over
Pictograms soon covered our fridge, bathroom mirror and her bedroom wall. They brought calm, but demanded time and preparation every single day.
Print, cut, laminate
Whenever the day, an activity or a visual changed, we started again. New cards had to be printed, cut out and laminated.
Rebuild every evening
Once the children were in bed, we found the right cards and rebuilt the whole plan for the next morning.
It could not travel
On weekends away, day trips, holidays or unexpected appointments, the visual board stayed home. That was precisely when familiar structure disappeared.
Why daylumi exists
That is why we looked for a solution that could always come along
So we looked for a digital solution that could always come along and grow with her. We did not find the right fit for our family. Schools told us the same: they use paper visual boards, printed PDFs and WhatsApp photos of plans. Even university hospitals doing ASD diagnostics rely on analogue tools.
So we built the first version of daylumi. Amélie started using it on day one. The meltdowns during transitions reduced. She started pointing at her schedule herself, anticipating what came next. Teachers asked if they could use it too.
We never looked back.
Our mission
daylumi starts by lifting the load for 10,000 children and their motivated parents. Then we will reach 100,000 children through professionals and schools, because we believe every neurodivergent child deserves the same gentle predictability, across every language, every school, every home.
Just two parents
We are Michael and Nathalie. We are not building this from a desk with a business plan, we are living it, every day. With our children Amélie and Luca, we experience firsthand how much calm a clear visual structure brings, and how much chaos appears when it is missing.
We know the morning stress, the transition meltdowns, the search for the right words. We know what it feels like to want help that simply works, without the hassle. We are building daylumi for parents like you, because we are those parents.
