Ethics & mission
We build daylumi as parents, for families like ours. The goal is not to get as big as possible, but to give as many children as possible a calmer day, without ever selling their data or misusing their images.
Our promises
The child comes first
Every feature has to make the next moment clearer for the child. If it does not, we do not build it.
No photos go to the AI
Children's photos stay with the family. The AI only ever receives text, never images or faces.
No reward games
No points, no streaks, no confetti. Calm and predictability, not pressure to perform.
Staying affordable
Everyone starts with a free first month and one honest price, with no hidden extras. No family should be locked out by a price.
Honest about what we are
daylumi is not a therapist and makes no diagnosis. We support structure, nothing more.
Your data stays yours
European storage, export whenever you want, full deletion whenever you want. Never sold on.
10% given back
Every year we donate 10% of our profit, calculated after operating costs and taxes, to a charity that matters to children, and to the designers of the pictograms we use. We set transparent criteria around child welfare, impact per euro and ethical alignment, invite our users to nominate organisations, and publish annually who we support and why. No marketing trick: the amount and the cause will always be visible on this page.
How we plan to reach 100,000 families
We start with families, because that is where the day begins. Schools and professionals follow, so a child sees the same visuals and structure at home and beyond it.
1. The first families
We talk to our first families personally, by phone or video call. What they tell us shapes what comes next and where it falls short.
2. Three languages, one product
Dutch, English and French from day one, so families in Belgium and beyond use daylumi in their own language.
3. Sharing with co-carers
Grandparents, a sitter or a second parent can follow the child's day, without anyone getting access by accident.
4. Schools and professionals
Then we open daylumi to schools, therapists and support workers. Every child who sees the same structure in class or in practice is a child who has to switch less.
5. Growing without breaking the promise
Growth must never cost privacy or calm. If a choice reaches more families but is less safe for children, we do not make it.
What we never do
- Sell or share children's data for advertising.
- Use children's photos to train AI models.
- Make claims about what a child has or feels.
- Show prices or upgrades in child mode.
- Invent scarcity to rush your decision.
